New Website    This web portal is a completely new presentation of the Human Factors Research and Engineering Group (ATOP - Human Factors) resources offered to the public via the web.  Since there is a great deal of work to transitioning resources from our old website and developing new resources, these resources will be added as they are developed and tested (we didn’t want to wait until everything was finished to offer our new site).  To help you use the site and to keep you updated on the changes to the site, watch the announcements that will be shown in the information boxes on the right of the screen (How to Use the Site, HF Web Portal Updates, Feedback, and Finding Information)

Welcome to the HUMAN FACTORS RESEARCH AND ENGINEERING GROUP New Web Portal

Welcome to the FAA's HUMAN FACTORS RESEARCH AND ENGINEERING GROUP’s (ATOP-AJP-61) Web Portal. Although our old website has served us for many years, it has become obsolete both in technology and content.  The obsolete technology has slowed our transition to a new site but we believe that our new site will evolve into an excellent resource for our group and the FAA to accomplish our mission and give the public the opportunity to tell us how we can improve the site for their needs.

One of the early resources available is a database of human factors research documents (look under the FIND INFO Tab, SEARCH FOR INFORMATION Sub Tab).  Documents may include videos, Power Point presentations, and other media.

Please let us know how this new site works for you as we continue to add resources (see feedback instructions in the FEEDBACK information box at the left of the screen).

How to Use the Site ...
You can access all the information on this website through the use of FILE TABS such as the “Find Info” tab  found near the top of the page.  When you click on a tab additional tabs (sub-tabs) will be made available for your selection that will refine your search for information.  These tabs and sub-tabs are your doors to all the resources in the site. Use the WEBSITE HELP tab to learn more about the site and how to use it.
Website Updates

Our new web portal will continue to evolve and be refined to improve its usability and effectiveness. This information box will identify the changes made.

Finding Information

There is a great deal of information in this site’s database. To access that information, select the “Search for Information” sub-tab under the “Find Info” tab. This will present a set of search boxes which can be used to describe what you need.  The search results will present all documents in the library pertaining to your request. Note: Some of the document titles are not descriptive of their content, but these documents do contain the information you requested on the search page. Open the document to see if it is something you need. This function will become more effective in the future.

A second approach is to select the “Find Info” tab and see if any of the sub-tabs identify the specific type of information for which you are looking.
